Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to provide a better browsing experience, and to supply information to the owners of the website.
Cookies can be "first-party" (set by the website you are visiting) or "third-party" (set by a service used by the website, such as an analytics provider). They can also be "session cookies" (which are deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them manually).
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are used on the Narraxion website (narraxion.com), operated by Astral Prism Srls, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences. This policy is provided in compliance with EU Directive 2009/136/EC (the ePrivacy Directive) and the guidelines issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) in the Provvedimento dell'8 maggio 2014 on the identification of simplified procedures for the disclosure and the acquisition of consent for the use of cookies.
For information on how we process your personal data more broadly, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
2. Essential Cookies
Essential cookies (also known as strictly necessary or technical cookies) are required for the basic functioning of our website. Without these cookies, the website cannot operate correctly, and therefore they cannot be disabled.
We use the following essential cookies:
- Session Authentication Cookie: This cookie is set when you log in to Narraxion. It keeps you authenticated as you navigate between pages so that you do not need to re-enter your credentials on every request. This cookie is a session cookie and is deleted when you close your browser.
- Locale Preference Cookie: This cookie remembers the language you have selected for the website interface, so that your language preference is preserved across pages and on subsequent visits. This is a persistent cookie that may last up to 1 year.
- CSRF Protection Token: This cookie is used as a security measure to protect against Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks. It ensures that form submissions and requests originate from our website and not from a malicious third party. This is a session cookie.
Legal Basis: These cookies are exempt from the requirement to obtain prior consent, as they are strictly necessary for the provision of the service explicitly requested by you, in accordance with Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2009/136/EC) and the Provvedimento del Garante Privacy dell'8 maggio 2014. No personal data is used for purposes beyond what is strictly necessary for these technical functions.
3. Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics 4, implemented via Google Tag Manager, to collect anonymous, aggregated information about how visitors use our website. This helps us understand which pages are visited most frequently, how long users spend on the site, and how they arrive at our website, so that we can improve the content and overall user experience.
The data collected through analytics cookies includes: pages visited and navigation paths, time spent on each page and on the site overall, referral source (how you arrived at our website), device type, operating system, and browser used, and approximate geographic location. IP anonymization is enabled, meaning your full IP address is never stored by Google Analytics.
The following Google Analytics cookies are used on our website:
- _ga: Used to distinguish unique users by assigning a randomly generated number as a client identifier. This cookie is included in every page request and is used to calculate visitor, session, and campaign data for the site's analytics reports. Expiration: 2 years.
- _ga_[container-id]: Used by Google Tag Manager to maintain and persist session state across page requests. Expiration: 2 years.
- _gid: Used to distinguish unique users, similar to the _ga cookie but with a shorter lifespan. It stores and updates a unique value for each page visited. Expiration: 24 hours.
- _gat: Used to throttle the request rate to Google Analytics, limiting the collection of data on high-traffic websites. Expiration: 1 minute.
Legal Basis: Analytics cookies are activated only after you have provided your explicit consent via our cookie consent banner, in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you do not consent, no analytics cookies will be set and no analytics data will be collected. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 5 below).
4. Third-Party Cookies
When you consent to analytics cookies, Google may set cookies on your device as part of the Google Analytics service. These are considered third-party cookies because they are set by Google, not directly by Narraxion.
Google processes the data it collects through Google Analytics in accordance with its own privacy policies. You can learn more about how Google handles your data by reviewing the following resources:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy - Google Analytics Terms of Service: https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/terms/us/
You can opt out of Google Analytics data collection across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We do not use any advertising, retargeting, or remarketing cookies. We do not use social media cookies or plugins that set cookies (such as Facebook Like buttons, Twitter widgets, or similar). The only third-party cookies on our website are those set by Google for analytics purposes, and only when you have given your consent.
5. Managing Your Preferences
You have full control over which non-essential cookies are set on your device. You can manage your cookie preferences in the following ways:
Cookie Consent Banner: When you first visit our website, a cookie consent banner is displayed, allowing you to accept or reject analytics cookies. Your choice is saved so that you are not asked again on subsequent visits. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any page on our website.
Browser Settings: Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically choose to block all cookies, accept all cookies, or be notified when a cookie is set so you can decide whether to accept it. You can also delete cookies that have already been stored on your device. For instructions on managing cookies in your browser, please consult your browser's help documentation:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data - Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data - Apple Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data - Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data
Please note that if you disable or delete essential cookies through your browser settings, certain features of the website may not function correctly — for example, you may not be able to stay logged in or your language preference may not be remembered. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the website in any way.
6. Cookie Retention
The retention period for each cookie depends on its type and purpose:
Essential Cookies: - Session authentication cookie: Expires at the end of your browser session (when you close your browser). - Locale preference cookie: Persists for up to 1 year to remember your language preference across visits. - CSRF protection token: Expires at the end of your browser session.
Analytics Cookies (only set with your consent): - _ga: 2 years from the date it is set or last updated. - _ga_[container-id]: 2 years from the date it is set or last updated. - _gid: 24 hours from the date it is set. - _gat: 1 minute from the date it is set.
You can delete all cookies stored on your device at any time through your browser settings. If you delete cookies, any stored preferences will be reset, and you will be presented with the cookie consent banner again on your next visit. Analytics cookies that have been deleted will not retroactively remove data that has already been collected and aggregated by Google Analytics.
